The Lights Within Exhibit Statement

November 20th – March 20th

Available for sale exclusively through this Virtual Gallery

The Lights within shows four examples of my latest exploration of memory, and my experimentation with found objects. Using discarded glass negatives from the 1920’s, I’ve created a series of ten light box constructions in which drawing, painting and collage blends to produce a single work using a photographic negative as the inspiration, and light as a focal point.

With all these elements in one single work, the concept of “borrowing” in order to remember solidifies my latest interest in using old, used and discarded objects in order to give a voice to the present.

While there are only four samples in this Virtual Exhibition, I have included several images of the complete installation currently at the Carr Gallery / The Idaho Arts Council in Idaho Falls Idaho.
